Of course, you can keep up with cybersecurity news and install patches when necessary \u2014 and by the way, <a href=\"https:\/\/threatpost.com\/category\/vulnerabilities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Threatpost<\/a> can help you stay up to date with the latest threats and new vulnerabilities discovered in the wild.<\/p>\n<p>Updating all your software is a time-consuming task, though. And monitoring the many programs we have installed to see if any new patches are available isn\u2019t very interesting, to say the least.<\/p>\n<p>Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 introduces a useful feature to address the problem of updating and patching your apps. It\u2019s called Software Updater, and it works in the background, scanning your system and vendors\u2019 sites for updates and offering to install necessary patches.<\/p>\n<p>By default, Software Updater is turned off, but you can turn it on and tune it in Settings. Here\u2019s how.<\/p>\n<p>Open Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 \u2192 Settings \u2192 Protection \u2192 Software Updater. Turn the feature on to allow Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 to search for and install patches automatically.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-13275 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/media.kasperskydaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/36\/2016\/10\/05085816\/1.png\" alt=\"Keep software up to date\" width=\"772\" height=\"575\"><\/p>\n<p>Software Updater will not bother you until it requires your confirmation to install a patch, at which point you can choose either \u201cShow\u201d to view and install any available updates or \u201cRemind Me Later\u201d to postpone.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-13276 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/media.kasperskydaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/36\/2016\/10\/05085815\/2.png\" alt=\"Keep software up to date\" width=\"400\" height=\"232\"><\/p>\n<p>Click <b>Update All<\/b> to install all updates at once or choose them one by one.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-13277 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/media.kasperskydaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/36\/2016\/10\/05085814\/3.png\" alt=\"Keep software up to date\" width=\"700\" height=\"521\"><\/p>\n<p>You can also initiate a scan for necessary updates whenever you like:<\/p>\n<p>1.
