They can overwhelm pages and make it hard to focus on the content. We recently explained <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaspersky.com\/blog\/internet-ads-101\/12904\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">how Internet<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaspersky.com\/blog\/internet-ads-102\/13199\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">ads work<\/a>, and today we are going to explain how to say goodbye to those ads with the help of Kaspersky Internet Security 2017.<\/p>\n<h3>Turn Anti-banner on<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaspersky.com\/blog\/internet-ads-102\/13199\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Kaspersky Internet Security 2017<\/a> includes a browser extension called Kaspersky Protection, which you can read more about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.support.kaspersky.com\/general\/safemoney\/12782?cid=blog&amp;utm_source=blog.kaspersky.com&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=olga_f_on_blog&amp;utm_content=anti-banner_enhttp:\/\/support.kaspersky.com\/general\/safemoney\/12782?cid=blog&amp;utm_source=blog.kaspersky.ru&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=olga_f_on_blog&amp;utm_content=anti-banner_ru\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">here<\/a>. Among other things, this extension has a component we call Anti-Banner. To turn it on, click the <b>Kaspersky Protection<\/b> button on your browser toolbar, and then in the Anti-banner drop-down menu choose <b>Enable<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/media.kasperskydaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/36\/2016\/12\/05090952\/1_en-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13549\" src=\"https:\/\/media.kasperskydaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/36\/2016\/12\/05090952\/1_en-2.png\" alt=\"Tip of the week: Get rid of ad banners\" width=\"574\" height=\"487\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The other way to turn on Anti-Banner is to open Kaspersky Internet Security 2017\u2019s settings and choose <b>Protection<\/b> \u2192 <b>Anti-Banner<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/media.kasperskydaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/36\/2016\/12\/05090951\/2_en-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13548\" src=\"https:\/\/media.kasperskydaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/36\/2016\/12\/05090951\/2_en-1.png\" alt=\"Tip of the week: Get rid of ad banners\" width=\"772\" height=\"575\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From now on, you will see fewer ads. Nevertheless, sometimes banners sneak through the filters. If you run into such ads, you can block them:<\/p>\n<p>1. Right-click on the ad and choose <b>\u201cCopy link address\u201d<\/b> (browsers have different names for this operation, but they look similar).<\/p>\n<p>2. Click on the Kaspersky Protection button in your browser and expand the Anti-Banner menu. In the drop-down list choose <b>Settings<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/media.kasperskydaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/36\/2016\/12\/05090950\/3_en-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13546\" src=\"https:\/\/media.kasperskydaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/36\/2016\/12\/05090950\/3_en-2.png\" alt=\"Tip of the week: Get rid of ad banners\" width=\"659\" height=\"546\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>3. Choose <b>Anti-Banner Settings<\/b> \u2192 <b>Blocked banners<\/b> \u2192 <b>Add<\/b>. Paste the copied link to add it to the blocked list.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/media.kasperskydaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/36\/2016\/12\/05090948\/4_en-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13547\" src=\"https:\/\/media.kasperskydaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/36\/2016\/12\/05090948\/4_en-2.png\" alt=\"Tip of the week: Get rid of ad banners\" width=\"772\" height=\"575\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s it \u2014 you won\u2019t see that banner again.<\/p>\n<p>You can also whitelist sites, in which case Anti-Banner will not block any ads on them.
