Commercial release of Kaspersky® Anti-Virus 5.0 for Linux Workstations

Kaspersky Lab, a leading information security software developer presents new generation of anti-virus protection for workstations running under Linux: Kaspersky® Anti-Virus 5.0 for Linux Workstations. The program, which replaces version 4.0, contains a range of fundamental changes and upgrades which heighten the efficiency of the system, as well as simplifying configuration and management of the solution. Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux Workstations provides anti-virus protection for workstations running under Linux. The program effectively detects and neutralises all types of malicious programs as they attempt to penetrate the workstation. All features function automatically, easing initial installation and implementation. The striking example of this is automatic scanning of the workstation's file system, which can also be carried out according to a schedule set by the user or even initiated manually if required. Updating the anti-virus database does not require any effort from the user, as updates are automatically downloaded via the Internet using a built-in utility. Remote management of the system is enabled by full integration of Kaspersky Anti-Virus with the popular administration system Webmin. The program makes it possible to remotely configure anti-virus protection, and also to restrict access to the program via an authorization system. Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Linux Workstations includes new anti-virus technology: the very latest development from Kaspersky Lab experts. The anti-virus engine incorporated in all product components significantly decreases the load on the computer while maintaining full solution functionality. In addition to all of the above, the program architecture has been simplified, which in turn simplifies program administration. The systems for reporting statistics have been upgraded; this offers users additional options in configuring virus attack warnings and reports on the work of program components. The new product from Kaspersky Lab, an essential component of corporate network protection, is priced according to the number of workstations to be protected. For example, protection for 10 workstations will cost $325.
